Dr Denise Beaudequin
Dr Denise Beaudequin has expertise in data science and applied statistics in a variety of fields, with publications in areas including injury surveillance, environmental health and trauma care. Before completing her PhD in statistical science at Queensland University of Technology with Distinguished Professor Kerrie Mengersen, Dr Beaudequin worked in a state-wide injury surveillance and prevention program, safety performance and quality improvement in the rail industry, environmental health research and nursing.
Dr Beaudequin’s doctoral research focussed on microbial water quality and human health risk assessment. She developed a suite of Bayesian networks to assess the microbial safety of wastewater for specific reuse options and exposure scenarios. The aim of these models is to assist decision makers such as water utilities managers and regulatory authorities to rapidly assess health risk and evaluate risk reduction strategies in fit-for-purpose wastewater reuse scenarios.
Dr Beaudequin is currently working in a tertiary healthcare setting on research and quality improvement of trauma care processes.
