I started my career as an engineer, before returning to study mathematics at the University of Adelaide, culminating in a PhD. After graduating I spent three years in Austria doing a postdoc at the Center for Integrative Bioinformatics Vienna. I've now returned to the University of Adelaide where I am a statsitics lecturer/postdoctoral research fellow. My research focus is on phylogenomic inference and using mixture models to accommodate complexity in evolutionary processes. I'm motivated by the development of new methods, as well as their application to global challenges.
