Dr Jing Fu received the B.Eng. degree in computer science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the City University of Hong Kong in 2016. She has been with the School of Mathematics and Statistics, the University of Melbourne as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate from 2016 to 2019. She has been a lecturer in the discipline of Electronic & Telecommunications Engineering, RMIT University, since 2020. Her research interests now include energy-efficient networking/scheduling, resource allocation in large-scale networks, semi-Markov/Markov decision processes, restless multi-armed bandit problems, stochastic optimization.
Building on previous expertise of the investigators on loss networks and multi-armed bandits respectively, we investigate how to allocate resources to requests so that the weighted proportion of denied requests is minimized.
