Every five years, the Australian Bureau of Statistics, or A-B-S, conducts a national Census. The official date of the next census is Tuesday, 10 August.
The last Census, in 2016, ran into big problems on Census night, with the website having to be shut down.
In this episode, we chat with Teresa Dickinson, the Deputy Australian Statistician with the Australian Bureau of Statistics leading this year's Census. She explains what they've learned from the 2016 Census.
Plus, we explore one question that's causing some controversy and how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting this year's Census. We also look into the future of the Census and how things might change.
