Intractable Likelihoods and Approximate Bayesian Computation Workshop 2018

Intractable Likelihoods and Approximate Bayesian Computation Workshop

The workshop ‘Intractable Likelihoods and Approximate Bayesian Computation’ was held on Tuesday 11 December and Wednesday 12 December, 2018, at QUT, Gardens Point Campus, Brisbane. The workshop attracted about 50 attendees over the two days. The workshop was organised by ACEMS CI Tony Pettitt and visting academic from University College, Dublin (UCD), Nial Friel, with help from ACEMS professional staff, Claudia Deasy and Tracy Kelly.

The workshop consisted of two distinct parts, with the first day having introductory lectures on likelihood and Bayesian theory given by Tony Pettitt, and lectures and hands-on demonstrations of R code for carrying out analyses for data from networks given by Nial Friel and Riccardo Rastelli, also visiting ACEMS from UCD.

On the second day there was a series of talks given by ACEMS members, including CI Scott Sisson, PhD students, Anthony Ebert, Leah South and Caitlin Gray, AI Matt Moores and Chris Drovandi, invited speaker Brenda Vo from the University of New England and our international visitors Markus Hainy (Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria), Riccardo Rastelli, and Nial Friel.

You can listen to the recorded talks from the workshop on ACEMS YouTube page.
