ACEMS PhD Student Wins Award for Excellence in Graduate Research

ACEMS PhD Graduate Jonathan Budd was awarded the Faculty of Science Dean's Award for Excellence in Graduate Research from The University of Melbourne in November 2018.

ACEMS Director Peter Taylor who was Jonathan's supervisor said the award was well deserved. "Jonathan had the most impressive examiners' reports of any of our PhD graduates from 2018," he said.

Jonathan said he was very grateful to the School of Mathematics and Statistics for the nomination. When speaking of his time studying his PhD with Peter, Jonathan said that "working with Peter Taylor was a great experience and it is an absolute honour to have my research recognised by the Faculty."

Jonathan is now Lead Data Scientist at Salesforce, working in the Einstein team, which builds the company's machine learning and artificial intelligence products and services.
